Goloka Community School
In 2017, Audarya Lila dasi and Yuga Dharma dasa were invited to Hillsborough NC to take over the fledgling day school in the New Goloka Community. Audarya Lila used her experience teaching in Montessori and Waldorf schools in Denver to transform the educational program of New Goloka, NC, and reveal its great potential. Soon, parents started coming from all over the world to join the existing families of the school: sending their children to Goloka Community School, joining the team of teachers, and offering other forms of support. Between the 2018-2019 school year and the 2020-2021 school year, 23 new students had joined the school.
The teachers at Goloka Community School engage their students through various academic, social, and extra-curricular activities involving spiritual practices, nature, field trips, music, science, and art. The school emphasizes a wholesome and safe space for students to express themselves in their various propensities, creating a dynamic community. The spiritual fundamentals intertwined throughout the curriculum are based on the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder of ISKCON.

In 2019, over 2 acres of commercial land were purchased to build a custom school, which would meet all requirements to be zoned as a private school.
In 2020, Goloka Community School made plans to move the growing school to a temporary facility while the new school building goes up. You can read about the project and how to be involved in this exciting phase of Goloka Community School here:
Goloka Community School is currently operating three classes, with plans to expand in the near future:
Yamuna Class (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
Ganga Class (1st - 3rd Grade)
Saraswati Class (4th-6th grade)
The school is a fixture in the New Goloka Community. As word spreads across the country and overseas, parents are inquiring regularly about the community, the school, and how they can enroll their children as students.
